From Paris With Love!

Chapter Two

She took a deep breath and finally spoke,"Let's go!" and grabbing his arm,they both walked though the front doors of the school.

What was bothering her wasn't the place or the surrounding,it was the new faces that she supposedly expected to come across.The first day of High school is always a little awkwardly surprising.New teachers,new fellow students,and classrooms.

"Chill, its all gonna be fine. Trust Me!" he knew he had to say something calming to her,because the pressure in which she had held his arm made him feel her discomfort.

She turned and gave him a disconcerted look.

They walked through the hallway and into the class."Man, there are a ton of kids in here",she murmured.

"See! it wasn't that bad,I told you!"

"Stop telling the same thing,over and over."she chided

"Okay..." saying this he made a gesture raising his hands backward,meaning he gives up.

They both sat at their respective desks and the new teacher after introduction,started with the lesson.The day turned out to be normal,which she hadn't expected,though.And to top it all,it was rather good.She got selected into the cheer leading team at the gym class and Darryl got selected into basketball team too.

And the next couple of months passed in making new friends.It was all going just smooth and nice until the new student showed up.

Nikki,the new student,got in mid session and it dint take her much time to become the center of attention.She showed good grades in class tests;she was instantly included in cheer leading team;the boys were gaga about her and unwillingly to the rest of the girls,she was pretty looking.

She was always found among the boys because her arrogant attitude towards the rest of the girls led to her being disliked by them.Generally all the girls were jealous of her but Raquel wasn't even bothered about her presence.She seemed to not notice her,at all until now.

Nikki was attracted to Darryl,which everybody found out soon.Unfortunately bad news travels fast and Raquel was starting to feel bothered about his hanging out with her.

Its not that Darryl wasn't suppose to hang out with people he wanted to,he had done even before,he had friends back from junior school,and she was perfectly okay with that.But this felt different,she specially dint like him hanging out with her.

It was one Friday,when she busted out her anger at school.She went unto Nikki and slapped her across the face and sending her falling to the ground.The entire class were taken aback by this stunt.And she shouted out loud,"You conniving bitch,stay away from my friend!" and saying this she ran ran out of the room.

Darryl was at the gym practicing while this happened and it was during lunch hour when he got the news.He wasn't amused at all,in fact he seemed angry at what she had done,whatever maybe the case he thought,she had no right to slap someone.He had to talk to her.He needed to find the answer as to why did she do such a thing.And the only way was to go and meet her face to face.

He skipped his last period and rode to her house.The door to her room was closed,and he stood right outside and called out,"Open the Door! I need to talk to you."

"Go away!" her voice came trailing from inside.

"I'm not going until you tell me why did you do such?"

"Leave me alone,I don't want to talk to you"

"Why? What's the matter?"he knew her well enough.She wasn't the type of girl who often got angry,in fact she is a very sweet spoken person and when she did something like that it obviously meant something was seriously wrong and he very well knew,she was crying in there.

"I wont leave until you let me in!" he confirmed.

And after standing for an hour right outside the door,she finally opened it.

He entered the room,and as expected her eyes slightly red due to crying.He sat beside her and taking her hand,caressing it,he asked,"What's the matter?"

"You! You are the reason." she snapped

"Me! what did I do?"he questioned

"Why would you hang out with Nikki when you are my best friend?"

He instantly understood the reason behind it.She was possessive about him,the way he was secretly about her.But he dint say anything,he instead smiled in his head.He dint want to ruin the moment.

"Let's go out for a ride"he offered,and she was little shocked at his sudden change.She had expected him to scold back at her but he seemed calm and rather okay with it.So she finally gave in.

"Okay..."

They both rode to their favorite place and parked their bike at their usual spot and walked hand in hand to the beach.Hampton,the place itself was beautiful and specially the beaches are extremely super place to hang out.

The weather was changing,the clouds getting dark and its was going to rain.She turned to him and softly asked,"You are not angry with me ,right?"

"Absolutely not"he asserted with a slight smile,and they both sat their chatting about old days.It was getting dark and the rain started to pour heavily.They stood under the tree shed waiting for it to stop.

He suddenly looked at her,by then they both were already drenched,she seemed so beautiful,he thought,the girl he had known all his life,secretly loved her since childhood,his best friend and in return she too cared about him,losing him mattered to her so much,her action this afternoon had proved it,being jealous of Nikki,and the truth,somewhere deep down he liked her this possessiveness.It made him feel important.

She turned to look at him and he was slightly shivering,and the rain hadn't stopped yet.

Their eyes met and something magical happened.

Her warm breath touched his face,and the small droplets appeared on her forehead,he dint know whether it was the rain drops or she was actually perspiring.He clasped her hand and thought,if she was perspiring it would not be unnatural,because the way he looked at her was supposedly to make her feel that way.Tiny butterflies changed shape and fluttering around in her stomach,and he spoke softly,"Raquel,(his eyes locked with hers) I like you"

She dint move while his words kept ringing in her ears again and again."I like you too" she shyly replied.

He held her more closer and took up her chin and they kissed.A cold shiver ran down her spine and all the hairs on the back of my neck stood straight.It was a long one and after that they wanted to do it again,as if wasn't enough and again kissed,and this time she popped a foot just making it a perfect one.They embraced each other quietly and let the moment hang in there for a while.

They stared into each other's eyes as if melting in the rain,into each other.And a warm fuzzy floating feeling filled her heart and he tightened his embrace slightly as if,if he loosed he would spoil the feeling.It was all so unexpectedly amazing,their first kiss.

The rain had gradually stopped and they walked back home,without saying another word and just remembering the beautiful moment some seconds...minutes...ago.

She waved him with a shy smile and entered the house.

That night she couldn't simply shut her eyes close.She kept thinking of the evening at the beach,about him,his arms holding onto her.She knew he was in the same state,she could see the lights of his room turned on,through her window.She pulled out a small diary from under her pillow,and scribbled his name with hers with a plus,and drew small cute hearts around it.

And he lay quietly in his bed,smiling,recollecting the feel of the kiss and the moment and turning to his sides at intervals.And thought,maybe this will be a good year after all....
